Michael Sharpe and Scientia Professor Veena Sahajwalla talked with local industry leaders at AgQuip. The 2022 NSW Australian of the Year, Prof Veena is one of our nation's leading engineers and is the Director of the Australian Government's Sustainable Communities and Waste Hub. In collaboration with local community leader, Kate McGrath the trio hosted a manufacturing roundtable in Gunnedah.
The trio were joined by Federal Agriculture Minister, Murray Watt MP and Federal Assistant Minister for Manufacturing, Tim Ayres MP where they were able to connect local industry leaders with leading politicians to share insights and opportunities for advanced manufacturing, research and development works and collaboration efforts to help boost regional efforts.
Small Business Ombudsman, the Hon Bruce Billson, also joined the manufacturing roundtable to meet with locals and share insights for small business across Australia. The attendee companies included Boss Engineering from Inverell, OSM Portable Buildings from Dubbo, SierraTek from Narrabri, PhotoCreate from Glen Innes, Many Fabrication at Gunnedah and Apollo Engineering with Vest-Water from Tamworth.

Michael Sharpe is co-hosting a special invitation only event during AgQuip to talk advanced manufacturing. The manufacturing roundtable will include leading manufacturing companies from across North West NSW including Boss Engineering from Inverell and Apollo Engineering at Tamworth.
Special guests include Federal Assistant Minister for Manufacturing, Hon Tim Ayres MP and 2022 NSW Australian of the Year, Scientia Professor Veena Sahajwalla - one of our nations leading engineers.
We will be joined by the NSW Modern Manufacturing Commissioner, Lisa Emerson, along with local Gunnedah manufacturing firms including Many Fabrication, Prides Easifeed and the Carrol Cotton Gin. The University of New England will be represented by the UNE Smart Region Incubator and Local Government representatives will include the Country Mayors Association.
Located on a permanent, purpose-built site, eight kilometres west of Gunnedah New South Wales, AgQuip attracts over 100,000 visitors, over a three-day period.
Showcasing over 3,000 products and services aimed at farming professionals, the event provides an excellent opportunity for businesses to promote their brand, generate sales and connect with their customers.
